The prep work is one thing. The follow through is another. The motive though? That’s the key.

Likely AI. What sticks out to me is the text thats too messy to be font and too clean to be handwriting. It does not come up in a Tineye search, which would be common if it was reposted from somewhere else, and if OP made it they could say so. Lack of credit is always suspicious

    Why AI meme?

No hate to AI or image generation, they have their purposes, but why AI meme?

This is a 2 minute sketch, TBH I might be able to make this by hand faster than any of my locally deployed AI models.

“Sketch, Color, Snap, Crop, Add Text, Upload.”

Dont say its a skill thing, I’ve seen literal stick figure drawings on lined paper get upvoted to frontpage here on Lemmy.

It’s fine. It’s just for fun & hasn’t put anyone out of work. Try to relax.

Uh oh, here come the pitchforks!

You guys have a problem with Capitalism, not AI.

How about both. One’s the cause, the other’s the symptom. Both are bad. But you, personally, can stop using the stuff that’d destroying the environment right now, while fixing capitalism is going to take a lot longer, and a lot more people.

I get it. I almost exclusively run llms locally on my laptop or phone, so my energy consumption is no more than gamers’.

Privatized AI is the issue, they’ll suck up resources forever if there’s a profit motive & try to prevent local llm usage at all costs.

AI Isn’t without its ethical issues or dangers, but I’ve noticed most people really seem to hate how it’s used to abuse & exploit in our system.

No, I hate how easy AI makes it for people to use it wrong. Guns are similar in that more guns = more gun violence, then though people argue that “guns don’t kill people” it’s still something that needs to be considered and can’t be separated from the plain concept of a gun as a “tool”. Considering AI is used wrong so frequently and creates massive amounts of problems, like spreading false information in amounts that make it difficult to combat, it’s fair to lump all of that with AI.

Additionally, right now most people don’t know how to run an AI locally, so it’s fair to assume that any AI you come across was generated by big privatized AI. Also, even if you’re running it locally, the models were still created by these big corporations that drain local resources and use massive amounts of energy to create them.

So, all the issues you agree are a problem with AI are still far too connected with AI that it’s not something you should consider separately from just AI as a tool.

This is my jam. A friend of mine described this as having an audience of people in your head that you’ve collected for various reasons, some positive, some toxic and poisonous. Like your best friend, or your mother, or your asshole boss that you have to deal with every day. Living in your head arguing with you and making you justify yourself, or perhaps encouraging you if it’s not a toxic audience member. The audience also changes over the years and as you change, people come and go.

I’ve decided to take control over my thoughts. I’m more cognizant of them now and stop before I start ruminating.

They’ll post a meme about how I win arguments with people in my head, and I’ll say no because I lose them all. That’ll show them.
