I used to not like Jimmy Kimmel much. He was okay on Win Ben Stein's Money and I thought The Man Show was God-awful so I couldn't really comment on him there, but that show turned me off of his talk show for a long time.
Then, this year, I started watching his monologues on YouTube. He has been hitting them out of the fucking park and he hits Trump hard. Apparently Trump watches him, at least sometimes, because he's responded to things Kimmel said that night during some of his late-night rants. Also, he comes across as a genuinely likeable guy.
His response to Aaron Rodgers was perfect:
Dear Aasshole: for the record, I’ve not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein, nor will you find my name on any ‘list’ other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can’t seem to distinguish from reality. Your reckless words put my family in danger. Keep it up and we will debate the facts further in court.
But you could see sparks of quality writing and satire. It was almost like they wanted to make it more satirical but it was more marketable as a show for "men."
The show also gave life to Joe Rogan's podcast career, so that sucks.
I had the same thoughts as you, especially regarding his hosting job on the abomination that was The Man Show. He has come a long way since then and is a really good dude.

The Man Show was awful. Not going to defend it.

My reason at the time was that I never liked Adam Carolla. I still don't like him, especially now that I know he's another Republican asshole.
I liked the Man Show just to watch The Fox chug giant beers. That still impresses me.
RIP Fox
The man show turned me off to Jimmy but I got over it.
Joe and Adam can fuck off though.
