If I send you an article about a horrific car crash, would you conclude that the majority of drivers are killed in car accidents?

I’m sorry if that was your personal experience, but it is far from the modal experience and shouldn’t be used as a basis for how we evaluate medical treatment or medications themselves. Like I said, you have no idea what you’re talking about.
No, you chose the first mental health drug that came to mind, not knowing that SSRIs and benzos are two very different classes of drug. Because, again, you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.
Your inability to differentiate between specific drugs, all of which are commonly known, sure makes it seem like you have absolutely no fucking idea what you’re talking about.
And the users of that site will tell you with a straight face that they are “free thinkers” and are immune to propaganda.
Yeah I forgot that Buttigieg got a few more delegates in Iowa. After all the moderates dropped out, Bernie definitely lost momentum and his campaign really should have planned for that kind of move. Warren also staying in the race despite a highly lackluster performance sure didn’t help.
Oh, what could have been.
Super Tuesday was March 3rd so that doesn’t dispute my point. Biden had won one state prior to Super Tuesday, Bernie had won three.
Sure, after all the moderate candidates (some of whom were doing much better than Biden) all decided to mysteriously drop out right before Super Tuesday. What a weird confidence, am I right?
It doesn’t work that well, since that’s less than 1% of federal employees.
You’re missing the point. No one thought Trump was the “anti-genocide” candidate. The people who DO care about Palestine knew that Biden was arming and facilitating genocide, and they heard Harris when she promised more of the same. Trump also supporting the genocide clearly wasn’t enough to get lots of those people to vote against him. You can call them stupid, or short-sighted, or whatever names you want, but the reality is that it’s not enough to point at the GOP and say that they’re also pro-genocide.
No, they’re a mystery and we’ll never know their identity so we should stop trying to find out.
This is really not helping with the “no personal accomplishments” observation I made earlier. How typical. How boring.
51% in an election with very low turnout is hardly a “landslide”. When you brag about something like this, it just shows people that you have to glom onto something other people did because you have no accomplishments of your own.
Ok. What has he done in his lame duck period, or expressed intention to do, that helps Americans? So far I’ve seen him double down on helping Israel commit genocide and I’ve seen him pardon his son. I’m happy to be convinced otherwise but I’m sure not seeing it now.
If you genuinely think that then you haven’t been reading my comments.
I agree with you that the sentencing was incredibly unjust and clearly politically motivated. I’m just incredibly frustrated that Biden is not doing anything that’s useful to Americans during his last few months in office.
I wouldn’t change a thing because Joe Biden is obviously perfect. If someone disagrees, they must not be smart enough to understand. The solution to that, as all good liberals know, is to shame them until they vote better.
Oh, no, I read your comment asking why Biden should care what Americans want, since so many of us voted Trump. And you’re right! Biden is justifiably disappointed by us and, as a result, has every right as a civil servant to completely ignore us and act entirely out of self-interest until he is out of power. That’s the social contract we make with our elected officials; we elect them and they enact their agenda provided we only do things they personally agree with. When we are naughty, they get to punish us by abandoning the people who got them in power. Basic civics.
No, of course not. He should do the exact opposite. In addition to not doing anything to protect any of the marginalized groups who consistently vote Democrat, he should pose for photo ops with Trump, pardon his own family members, and do nothing to help the unworthy little piggies who couldn’t be bothered to get other people to vote for him or for Kamala. The only circumstances in which we can expect Democrats to behave any better than Republicans is when it comes to respect for decorum, not actual policy.
I don’t know where you’re getting these ideas about my views, I’ve been in total agreement with you about these points this entire time. I’m just making the exact same argument you’re making.
Edit - obvious sarcasm aside, Biden should do things like nominate judges for all those empty seats while the Dems still have the Senate. He should do things like direct the DEA to deschedule cannabis, a move that would be wildly popular with voters on both sides of the aisle and thus seems unlikely to be overturned. You know, helpful things that help people who weren’t lucky enough to be born with the last name “Biden”. He won’t, though. And it’s weird to just jump to January 6th. That’s a weird thing to do.
Not really, we all saw how the Dems handled and continue to handle things. It’s better than the GOP but far from acceptable. But, again, you are not responding to the point I made a month ago.
Regardless of whatever arguments you have that people should vote Democrat, many of which I would probably agree with, they are not. Whether or not it should be the case is irrelevant, as this most recent election shows that the Dems’ strategy isn’t working. Running a right-wing campaign trying to appeal to “moderate Republicans”, part of which was their approach to Gaza, failed miserably. If they don’t do things differently, they will continue to fail, even if people should understand that they are still the lesser evil.
