So when fox had all those assholes come on and talk about how migrants were eating all the cats and dogs, based on one the Twitter post recounting the story of a friends daughter’s friend’s temporarily missing cat, they should have had to run equal time segments on the same channels and local stations admitting that they failed a basic journalistic test to question the validity of that info, and that after further investigation it appears to be blatantly false.

Let’s not make the inevitable mistake of assuming what was an essential skill for one generation is going to matter fuck all for most of the next generation.

Old people still think it’s outageous if you can write a check, read an analog clock, read/write cursive… All things that most millennials might “need” to do less than once a year.

Well, I honestly think that two people with different skill sets and experience can have a 100x difference in productivity. I then multiplied that value by 10x to appease people who really really really think they deserve it.

I’m the 2nd oldest of 7 kids. That house was never clean. We had all kinds of pets. I would play in the woods, make mud pies, catch weird bugs, eat wild berries and onion grass. I pretty much had the “go outside and play in the dirt to build character” childhood. I’ve got a couple of food allergies and pet dander allergies. My oldest sibling has an auto-immune issue, the ones just after me are pretty healthy, just some minor lactose intolerance, and the two youngest (from my step dad) have a bunch of weird allergies, like potatoes and milk.

It’s a genetic roll of the dice. The reason why allergies seem more common is because more kids are able to survive anaphylaxis at a young age thanks to modern medicine and quick emergency response times… Like I went through when I spontaneosly developed a severe fish allergy at 4 years old.

I had oatmilk once at a vegan diner 6 years ago, and that was the end of me buying milk to drink. I only buy it now for baking/cooking.

Twitter/X is a “free speech” platform where the swastika is protected, and the Rainbow flag is banned. Every account still on there today sees this as a good thing, or as the cost of messaging on that platform. All of them should be ostracized and dropped until they close their accounts.

Trump was campaigning on the same shit at the same time. Both events are examples of far-right authoritarian tides rising around the world.

I got news for you. Trump only got about 35% of eligible voters, and probably 60% of those voters didn’t want him as President, but vote because Republicans are pushing the single issue they care about (pro-life, or anti immigrant…) so we probably only have 10% or so actual bootlicking fascists successfully getting their leather-granddaddy elected. 20% is more than a large enough block to align with them because “the ends justify the means” and “they aren’t that bad” or “the left just calls everyone they don’t like fascists/Nazis” and bam, you’ve got your own Trump in power.

Before you ask yes, the numbers are just pulled out of my ass, but the vibes I get from talking to people in a very politically middle of the road state, they feel in the right ballpark.

Personally, I like the idea of taking the richest person in the country, and redistributing half their wealth every year. That way the goal is to be the second richest person, and you basically pit the two richest and most powerful guys on the planet against each other, trying to prove that the other one is richer.

I’d also like to cap total CEO (or highest earner) compensation at 1000x the pay of the lowest paid person at the company. This would include bonuses and stock options/growth. Any extra amount is confiscated and paid to fund UBI.

He deserves to work a job based on his skill and merit, and not the starter fortune he inherited. He might make it to department manager at a best buy.
