Cutting 250 jobs while raising executive pay 400%.
In 2021 the CEO made 5.5 million. They got about 7 million in donations that year.
80% of their revenue is from google. But google encourages them to waste the money on stuff not related to the browser because it’s competition to chrome. Their job us to look like a viable competitor but not be good one.
The browser is constantly getting worse on performance, user experience, and customizability.
They have gone from 34% user share to 2.2%. So clearly I’m not alone in my opinion of the current state of the browser.
There are two main inverter approaches. One big inverter that takes the DC from a bunch of panels and converts it into AC and micro inverters where each panel gets it’s own small one placed directly under the panel.
The micro inverters cost around $150 each. So you need around 10 panels before the single inverter becomes a good choice.
Installers love the micro because the install is easier. However as a owner with say 30 panels you now have 30 points of possible failure instead of the 1.
I wanted to like Surviving Mars so much but there was something so frustrating about how they implemented the domes. I’d come back to it every so often and give up in frustration.
For my state congressman during the primaries a guy knocked on my door and was ruining in the Democratic primary. Young guy who claimed progressive values. Creepy vibe.
I looked him up after and he had a failed bid as a republican congressman one state over. Republicans are trying to sneak in their own into democratic primaries and it’s working.
I was talking about Ross Perot. He was a successful business man. I doubt he would have been a good president.

It wasn’t learned. He was a 3rd party presidential candidate that ran on being a business man not a politician. He came in third.
Makes me think of Anton Drexler. Leader of the Nazi party. He used Hitler’s popularity to further the party. Until they had a falling out and Hitler said it was Drexler or him. The party couldn’t afford to lose the most popular member so Drexler was out and Hitler was put it charge.
I’m a fan of cleave which can mean to split in two or to stick together. Each meaning has a different root.
Yup I4 is bad but Miami is brutal. In Miami a turn signal is a .25 second warning to get out of the way. (Lifelong central Florida resident)
I remember a time when people got into arguments over who played a roll in a movie. one time we drove to a video rental store to settle it.
His party didn’t show preventing the 2/3 of parliament required for the vote to be held. They are planning on trying again Wed.
So if they show up the vote happens and he probably goes down. If they don’t show up they don’t get to vote on anything.
They pushed the stakes so high that when the fights are just everyone punching and kicking each other it’s stupid and silly.
It always makes me think of the reenactment of the battle of Pearl Harbor.
I have my old laserdisk player and a few LDs.
They appeal to different aspects of entertainment. Other than being scifi franchise from the 70s that have lasted through today they are completely different types of shows.
I don’t want to bash you for likeing Star Wars but I’m the exact opposite in what I want. I find Star Wars dull and uninteresting and love the dialog, mystery, and problems of Star Trek. (I can’t deal with nutrek)
I think it’s like pizza vs sushi. You can like one, both, or none but one is never going to satisfy if you are in the mood for the other.
We have ships with city destroying weapons now. Rouge captains and crews don’t go around turning cities or even islands into glass just because.
Damn. Thanks that’s a perspective I’d never have thought of. Though I’d also have kept Tuvix around.
It think the Dominion war works but as a framework for some of the more complicated choices the characters need to make. It also give us a chance for decisions to not play out in an hour episode.
It gave us the most interesting human klingon stories since TOS. Allies with different views and where the klingon perspective has more value.
I agree the actual battle scenes and episodes are usually week.
I also agree Sisko and the wraith / prophets stuff was terrible though. Though I always hated the prophet stories not just the end. I would have loved to see a better ending to Dukat and Winn than blasted with space magic.
