  • True but also not true. Pitbulls are a very deceiving risk. With a properly trained pitbull and owner the pitbull is unlikely to cause an injury, however if it does the injury is critical or lethal. Low chance, high impact. There are tons of stories about children being killed by their pitbull because today was the unlucky day that part of the pitbulls brain triggered and they went for the kill. It’s irresponsible to own a pitbull if you have small children. Pitbulls are great, although they’re a very challan dog to own which requires a diligent owner.

  • The crazy half is in control right now and there’s not much we can realistically do.

That’s defeatist. There is a lot that can be done. You could pressure your representatives to gum up congress so much with filibusters, and unnecessary votes to slow down what Trump can actually get done. You could join the democratic party with others and start demanding that they change from within. You could support local or internet grassroots campaigns who resist Trump. If the only thing you’re going to do over the next four years is wait to vote Democrat again then there’s not much you’re realistically Willing to do.

  • You have a big heart, and that’s a good thing. I could not disagree with you more. ‘No man left behind’ is a noble code to live to but I think that following it to an absolute sense defeats it’s purpose. ‘No man left behind’ to me means anybody on my team is never alone. The key is they have to be on my team and in this case everyone who isn’t a nazi is on my team. Neo-nazis have made real threats against people who I’m on the same team with and I would be leaving them behind if I didn’t oppose neo-nazis. If it comes to it, yeah Nazi lives don’t matter.

I’m not saying hunt them down and kill them. I’m saying take the ones who have actually done terrible things, put them in prison. Tell them to either grow up and change, or stay behind bars until they’re so insignificant that there’s no need to hold them anymore or until they die naturally. Holding neo-nazis accountable shouldn’t be controversial. If that requires taking their life I won’t shed any tears, but that is absolutely a last resort.

  • Hahahaha! No! Not with neo-nazis. Look with racists and bigots I’ll agree, try compassion first. I’ve done that and for most racists and bigots I’ve confronted it has worked. I didn’t change them to be a champion of minorities but usually I can convince someone to behave nicer. Neo-nazis on the other hand are not just regular racists and bigots who say terrible things but don’t actually do anything. Neo-nazis are the extreme and if they’re an adult regardless of their life experience they know what they’re saying is wrong. So no, I have no compassion and will never have compassion for an adult who is a neo-nazi. Period.

  • I think you might have misunderstood the lesson that we’re taught about the Holocaust. It wasn’t important who Nazi Germany gurt, it’s what the Nazi’s did. Regardless of who they did it to. The Nazis threw away their own humanity to achieve their goals, that is always wrong. Everything else after that is just details. That’s what people are afraid of with Trump’s deportation mandate, that to actually achieve it migrants will need to be treated subhuman. To deport them as quickly as Trump wants America and American’s will have to throw away some more of their humanity. It’s not the same as Nazi Germany in that there aren’t death camps, but Trump and his allies want America to walk down that path a bit. It’s wrong.

  • While there are no laws that really stop an AI from doing whatever, there are already laws to stop someone from doing that. It might be difficult to find a corporation like UHC guilty of fraud when they use a faulty AI to refuse health care, it’s pretty easy to go the other way and charge a person for using a corporation’s AI in a way they did not intend.

A corporation causes a million deaths, no one bats an eye. Steal a million dollars from a corporation and everyone loses their fucking minds.

  • I’m sorry to say, but that’s not necessarily true. It would need to be a police recording or record of someone threatening you for them to actually have to do anything. You could walk into a precinct with a bona fide video of someone making a serious threat to your life and the police typically won’t do anything about it. That same person could make a clip about murdering you and post it online with a clear plan to kill you and the police still wouldn’t have to act. All of that is hearsay, regardless of how serious the intent is and the police can choose to ignore it. Unless it’s someone worth helping, someone who might be able to make a sizable donation.

  • Oh for sure, enough kindling has definitely been set down to start a new world war. Adding all the sparks people are making and it seems like history might repeat itself. The next world war might have even started as far as historians will be concerned. I just think that if full mobilization actually happens the prepers are as screwed as the rest of us. The only way to actually survive that with a fragment of our old ways in tact is to already be rich and powerful, should the worst happen.

  • The assassination of Archduke Ferdinand might have been the spark that caught the fire that started WWI but there wasn’t a single cause. It was all the back-room alliances between nations that was the kindling that spark caught, and a long build up of new weapons no one had put into total mobilization yet, and a bunch of other things.

If Archduke Ferdinand wasn’t assassinated WWI might still have happened. Though history will never know.
