Mexico doesn’t pay the tarrifs, Americans will pay the tarrif. It’s just a fancy word for tax. Call it import tax, Trump import tax. Do you see it ? It’s meant to make US made more attractive by making imports more expensive. It also make Trump a very unreliable partner. Flip flopping all over the place.

Personnaly I would put a mirror tarrif. Tax the stuff going out to USA. Canadian economy will slow down, don’t make life more expensive for Canadians. And that way Americans might notice it faster if they pay 50 percent more.
