I was just making an abstract sci-fi joke based on how cold fusion has been presented like a Holy Grail in the past. Obviously a better source of energy isn’t going to solve all our problems, no matter how good it is.

Maybe if it runs longer, we all get to jump to a better timeline. 😅

All I’m saying is that you should say what you mean then (as you did in this reply), and not what can very easily be used against you.

“Death to [geographical place]” shouldn’t be said by anyone. However it’s meant, it’s way too easy for people to take literally, and it provides cover for the few that actually do mean literal harm. Maybe you mean “down with Israel,” but even that can be taken the wrong way. (Much like saying “down with [monarch]” would historically be understood to mean that monarch should die as opposed to stepping down.)

Closest thing I find can help is to underline in my own words (so WITHOUT just quoting “first they came for…”) that whatever the unfair treatment is, some form of it will eventually creep up the hierarchy more and more, the longer it is tolerated. Individualism has made it so many people think of themselves and their immediate family only.

Actually they fully allow the sale of explicit Nazi merch at Shopify. They just came up with a vaguely plausible excuse to get rid of Kanye’s store specifically. The execs at Shopify are outspoken extreme right wingers. These are guys get along well with the Proud Boys (which is considered a terrorist group in Canada).

I’m sure we all have suspicions about them but I want to know what their excuse is, especially considering the dangerous (for them) possibility their jobs could come to an end if Trump solidifies the level of power he obviously wants to have.

It’s hard to understand how dismissive they’re being when their own constituents are reaching out to them. Is this article leaving it out or have they given some sort of rationale for choosing their battles instead of going all out?

After the Trump administration warned federal employees of “adverse consequences” for not reporting colleagues resisting orders to eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion programs, citizens began submitting false reports to the special email account: [email protected]. Here’s one example: “A man named Donald Trump is doing affirmative action for billionaires and oligarchs against the mandate to stop hiring minority groups.”

I thought the tech for imitating voices was already essentially available. There are cases of fraud that have been based on this.

Presumably smelling it is fine at a bit more of a distance. The issue is the same as if you were to put Vaseline near your nostrils. Particles of the petroleum jelly base can get inhaled into the lungs if it’s too close.

Amazing how relatable this is and yet loads of us can still feel chronically isolated or without purpose in life. Do you have some idea what elusive condition might allow you to experience life as a gift? If not, I hope you find it.
