  • I’ve thought the same but this is all dependant on someone sane being able to take power back at some point soon. Where will all the crazies be when this better society is being created?

The climate catastrophe is also a ticking time bomb with very little time left to avert total disaster. The other problem is that Putin caused this situation for a reason and honestly I’m thinking he destabilised the world because there’s a plan involved. Call me crazy but Russia, China and whoever could be aiming to invade. What else are they playing at? They’re all megalomaniacs and they’re going to control all these countries where the US was giving aid (and I’m sure spying).

And then there’s an asteroid, currently a 3% chance of hitting. Have you seen ‘don’t look up’?

  • You mean another coup? Another in addition to the first coup, in which several people were killed and sh*t smeared on the walls of the capitol, when people had to hide for their lives and in which some of the protectors were complicit?

The one after which the ringleader went completely unpunished and then got back into power and released the people who’d actually done it on his behalf?

I know this is crazytown now, but we don’t want to forget about that first coup.

  • This kind of justification isn’t the end, but if a group are able to destroy the country then ideology is kind of moot… To be pragmatic this is like 4D chess and the end result has to be a working democracy. I used to say ‘oh just let it burn down, its shit anyway’ but this means peoples lives lost and spiralling chaos which can’t really be predicted. I’d guess the chance of anything better emerging is very slim.

The best result now is that enough people realise what’s happening and know that they MUST be politically active, must make a popular movement for peace, justice, truth, decency… All of the old values which seem out of fashion. There are more people who believe in those things but where tf are they? They’re saying ‘politics are gross’ I don’t want to be around that.

Ummm… THOSE people ought to be the ones doing politics! They ought to be the politicians.

  • I get that you’re disheartened but pick yourself up.

Do you know that the vast majority of people lived in absolute poverty, working every working hour for not enough money to eat?

That’s really wage slaving, when you’re too poor to have a home or even to rent a bed and you sleep stood up against a rope to stop you falling on the floor.

Or you can’t make it and you go into a workhouse, separated from your kids and made to work for no money and given gruel to eat.

The way people got out of that hell was to organise, to fight, to keep fighting. That’s how workers won ALL the rights which are normal in the west - minimum wage, no child labour, maternity pay… Every single decent law was fought for.

So don’t tell me we or you have it hard right now, just because things are harder than you’re used to and we’re all scared.

We’ve had it easier all our lives and most of us didn’t want to go out of our comfort zone to fight to make life better. Our chickens are coming home to roost now.

Let’s try to lift each other up instead of demoralising each other.
