Dying earth isn’t really a genre, it’s series of books by Jack Vance that popularized this trope and was also a major inspiration for DnD

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TomatoSurprise is the wider trope
That was only the first year or two at most iirc
proper punctuation kinda takes away from this writing style
depressingly common, was even more common before we let women have rights
wonder how some of the greedier telehealth hrt providers (not naming names but it’s all on Google) would react if someone straight up said “I’m cis but want to be more attractive to a certain demographic, gimme the femboy pills”. I’d give 70/30 they’d eventually agree.
p.s. personally I think hrt should be maximally cheap and sold over the counter.
Why is that associated with lemmyml
I feel like scanner apps should have a special check for that specific url and start playing the song immediately without asking for a confirmation
Presumably those failsafes can be circumvented and your character being a cool hacker applies those exploits to their hardware.
A lot of the worst stuff the us government does tends to be bipartisan. This one was a veto proof majority. We can still be mad he didn’t veto, but yeah

Reading about it a bit more, they also try to drive their office employees as hard as they can but it’s not as effective because of the smaller labor pool and nature of the work.
And congrats to you for finding a nice place!
Not a security guy but I heard there’s a whole term for it, “one-click attacks”
Is this for office work? Because it doesn’t jive with the totalitarian surveillance/micro management regime I’ve been hearing about at their warehouses and for their drivers.
“a modest proposal” was another banger on a similar topic
extra workload
I assume they’d use syndication software that could plug into mastodon as well as the proprietary networks. If they’re already syndicating posts between twitter Facebook and Instagram one more network shouldn’t be too much effort.
Maybe we could do better with smaller ais that are fine tuned (or RAG idk I’m not a programmer) on a specific code base + documentation + topical forum
A lot of Russian “tankies” believe this unironically tho - that Putin should demonstratively purge the corrupt high command (which really is corrupt), nationalize our heavy industry such as car manufacturers, and force mobilize the masses to work on those plants, because otherwise we are at a real risk of losing to some stupid khokhols and their american overlords.
They don’t understand that Putin runs on personal loyalty first and foremost and purging anyone for mere corruption and incompetence is unthinkable (he is merciless to people he sees as traitors however). It’s not how the system works at a fundamental level
“we” in this case could be the American government in general and the supreme court specifically. The fact that such an important right was “granted” by a decision of nine random schmucks and can be taken away by another decision (rather than being a law) is not a great look for that government.
But you’re right that it was not the best phrasing. Activism is extremely important esp on more local levels
