We just need to send them to a neutral instance and teach them the damn rules, especially about switching instances so they can go be in a place that fits their style. I vote Lemm.ee, as I agree with their “Administration, moderation, and federation policy”, and their site wide rules:
- No abusive language
- No bigotry
- No advertising
- No pornography
Kids today just won’t understand. T__T
“Living the dream…”
In the Midwest we have a similar one:
Person 1: How’s it going?
Person 2: It’s going(! or … depending on the mood)
Be the change, young one!
Short answer about benefitting policy holders vs share holders is they’re not. They won’t.
Yeah, I said that knowing this was true, and I guess props on them for not lying their way out of that part… 🙄
The second half of what you said is why these companies, that literally have peoples health and wellbeing in their hands, should NOT be for-profit companies. They are actually profiting, and celebrating their record profits, off of hurting people. It’s insane.
Thanks for the podcast share, I’ll check it out.
Yeah, we don’t want to have a politician de facto in power because no one else better comes along and/or no one still wants to vote.
What if we make not voting an official vote and, if it wins, all the parties have to try again with new candidates?
Witty said that while UHC is willing to “partner with anyone” who could help the system work better, “clearly, we are not there yet.”
“We understand and share the desire to build a health care system that works better for everyone. That is the purpose of our organization,” he wrote.
I would love for him to explain to me why they NEED to deny 1/3 of their claims to keep their business afloat and how they are using their $23.1 billion profit to benefit the policy holders rather than the share holders. That would be a real article, a real plea to the populace. This is just an article full of empty words that mean nothing, but it does show us how scared you execs are, which is nice.
Oh, and I liked this part (emphasis mine):
Witty added that Thompson was “never content with the status quo” and praised the CEO for advocating for ideas that “were aimed at making health care more affordable, more transparent, more intuitive, more compassionate — and more human.”
Yea, like the Ai denial system? I bet that really gave it the human touch. I mean, I really can’t believe he said that part.
If you push someone away because they voted for the wrong candidate or don’t agree with you on some social cause, some fascist talking head on YouTube will be right there to swoop them up.
I feel that about my older boomer relatives and friends - they are very right wing, but they have more in common with leftists than the true interests of the Republican Party, and if they’d just stop believing dumb shit, they will be ready for a change (of whatever form that may take). They are also firm belivers in the second Amendment and drive large trucks. I wonder where the right will land on gun control if, heaven forbid, copy cat CEO killings occur.
We’ll see if they fall in line or if shit gets real, I guess?
Personally, idgaf what his alignment was, I know his action’s alignment was chaotic good.
Okay, that’s what I was trying to convey.
You said:
the catchphrase insurance companies themselves created and live by.
And I just said she added the part that the killer added too - depose.
From the article’s source article:
“She’s been in this world long enough that she certainly should know better that you can’t make threats like that in the current environment that we live in and think that we’re not going to follow up and put you in jail,” said Lakeland Police Chief Sam Taylor.
I thought we had a legal definition of a real threat, and this isn’t it.
Well, “depose” isn’t pat of it. The killer added that part.
I got it from the top comment’s source, which, it seems “claims” to be his story.
Then the question is, why weren’t they just given full contol of the infowars business in the first place if that’s what they really wanted?
I’m still looking for my GBA-SP! It’s the retro Nintendo version. I want to play Golden Sun without paying for it.
