But he’s draining the swamp! And the bogs, fens, wetlands, critical aquifers…
Don’t forget the costs of desperately trying to rehire critical employees, rebuilding essential agencies, and the environmental and human toll for yielding oversight to corporate greed!
That’s one of the things I respect the hell out of with Bill Burr. He says plenty of shit I disagree with, but also says lots that I strongly agree with. His opinions are truly his own and he’ll voice them to a reasonable point. He’s no one’s parrot.
Pikachu ex? More like Pikacheex, am I right?
Rich people are just better at managing money than poor people. Poor people will just spend it on dumb shit like “goods” and “services” which they greedily acquire from their vast network of other poors.
Much better to have rich people in charge that can properly sequester money into The Wall Street Economy.
Counterpoint: Do travel to Europe with that shirt, for the same reasons you said.
It’s like The Purge, except for paying off the foreign benefactors that helped install this government and securing federal funds to finance his inevitable scorched-earth exit.
No, but you see, bribing foreign officials is beneficial to America because it demonstrates how impressively wealthy America is, which in turn strengthens the US economy. The Radical Left will tell you that it’s a cheap way to gloss over funneling federal funds out of the country to support the president in his retirement, forced or otherwise. They’ll throw their hateful words like “treason” the same way they accused Daddy Musk’s deliberate double show of unifying love as a Nazi salute.
Can you provide evidence for this
Oh, no, we’re in lemmyshitpost, so I was just talking shit about the absolutely insane marketing choice to try to sell them as “triangles”.
But here we are talking about it, so fuck me, it’s working.
That’s a very generous assumption for a company whose “flavoured, uhhh, triangles” can’t pass the legal threshold of the word “chip” or “snack”, let alone “tortilla”.
Terminal velocity is really only relevant for objects that go below terminal velocity and then start falling. Bullets famously come out of guns very fast, so fast they go into people.
While air will slow the bullet down, tell that to the guy over over 2 miles away from Viacheslav Kovalskyi
Now, bird shot ain’t sniper rounds, but the point stands.
What? No. I literally just explained that. No, it’s not childish to refuse to take a bad faith call from a dictator to either legitimize their rule or engage in a conflict that would drag the world into a 3rd world war.
Whether you agree or disagree with whether that is the correct political move is certainly up for debate. But to claim it is childish is itself naive.
The answer is implied. No, I don’t believe the same thing, because they are explicitly different situations.
Refusing to communicate with someone is valid when you have valid reasons.
Refusing to take a phone call from a guy actively engaging in a violent robbery is valid for a number of reasons.
Flinging bags of shit into your neighbour’s yard, then refusing to talk to your neighbour’s when they say “this isn’t helping either of us live well; I don’t want to throw this shit back at you, but I will until you stop” is not valid, it is the inaction of a petty imbecile that can’t justify their actions.
Does that answer your question?
Ah yes, who can forget the longstanding free-trade agreement with America’s favourite, peaceful neighbour, Russia. Both sides are totally the same.
I’ll explain it for you. When the US government imposes a 25% tariff on Canadian goods, the cost to US consumers increases by 25%. Now, every other global supplier that was 1% - 24% more expensive gets the business that used to be Canadian revenue. So, Canadians lose US customers. We both lose.
If you want further reasoning on why this is bullshit, the “small government, lower your taxes” Republican government are the ones collecting the 25% tariff that is paid. It is a additional tax with no promise of social support. Do you think Trump will use that additional revenue to issue small business grants or to subsidize the businesses of the oligarchs in his administration?
Now, when people say stupid things like, “Canada imposing tariffs only hurts Canadians” it is very obviously 100% reciprocal. The retaliatory tariffs are meant to put the pressure on US exporters to put the pressure on their government to end the trade war. A few key points on the Canadian tariffs:
Finally, to address the argument that the tariffs will strengthen the US manufacturing economy, I will refer back to my point about the government using the tariff income to subsidize American businesses. Small businesses are not (and frankly cannot) replace entire Canadian (and Mexican) industries within a couple of months. That money is not going back into the economy. The US oligarchy, the massive monopolistic industry giants, are the only ones that are going to spring up and, chiefly, profit off this whole debacle. And that’s by design.
But you don’t understand, see, he didn’t consent to being taxed, therefore it’s theft.
Be kind to them, they were kidnapped and imprisoned for many years since birth. The earlier years involved many forms of humiliating torture.
I bet the security detail wouldn’t even get insurance coverage for being wounded in the line of duty as it’s obviously negligent to put yourself in harms way like that
Forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza
Not only that, but it’s good for one person to donate their excessive wealth, but it’d be great if the other 2700 of them had to relinquish some of it.
We really don’t like nazis.
