So I wonder when Trump and Musk will have their falling out. Or have they really tied their fortunes so closely together that they’re stuck with each other?
Even expecting Trump’s narcissism and corruption, some of his choices have been rather bizarre…
I mean, ideally I’d like him to have an epiphany about what a terrible person he is and spend the rest of his life making amends for it. But I don’t expect that to happen, so I guess bankruptcy is the next best thing.
Right now the Dems are polling at something like 30%.
The wild thing is that that is still better than his approval rating from the same time period in his first time. So, from a certain perspective, he’s more popular than ever before. 🤮
The US is in a constitutional crisis with situations like this, and so many people just don’t seem to care or want to acknowledge that it’s at that point.
And they also regularly engage in antisemitic dogwhistles like claiming Soros is secretly funding things, etc. The nature of modern far-right political movements is that competing prejudices often get switched out based on context. So their antisemitism competes with their islamophobia. And the evangelical Christian zionists in the Trump regime basically believe that Jews in Israel will either convert to Christianity or be wiped out as part of their end-times ideology. So even their support for Israel only really sees the Jewish people of Israel as objects in their dispensationalist ideology.
Yeah, seriously. She’s an adult. She could have just said “Thanks Joe, now go away.” What could he have done? Fired her?
Babylon 5 or the Expanse. I suppose it depends on how close I am to a main character…
Basically, markets generally prefer stability and predictability. Trump is neither, which makes the market far more volatile. All the bullshit he’s been spewing the past few weeks have been a major disruption and has made many in the market uneasy.
Are you suggesting statues of liberty migrate?
If your business model is predicated on breaking the law then you don’t deserve to exist.
All of Wall Street sweating nervously
I mean, I’d say there’s a qualitative difference between industrial products and a novel, for example.
Apparently part of the treaty that returned the canal to Panama means that either Panama or the US can unilaterally ensure the canal’s neutrality if they feel it is threatened. So I’m sure they could make the argument that it falls under this. It would be bullshit, of course, but so are all of their other arguments.
Thank you for your service
They keep trying this shit even though it never works. (Like there’s literally no pictures of this actually, totally existent place. But it’s a paradise. Trust me.)
It’s kind of funny when you consider that the VW design was a ripoff of the Czech-made Tatra T97.
But the corporate donors don’t pay the Dems to fight…
