Can someone explain me how pensions work? Isn’t that some sort of 401k that is tied to the company and you lose access to when you switch companies?

Oh, glorious!
You’re 92 and your kids are 10 and 8? Damn, and I thought I started late.
I have to use Windows 11 for work. It’s bad. But this past weekend my son was getting poor performance of a steam game so I dusted off the old windows partition to see if it was a compatibility issue (it wasn’t, my hardware simply doesn’t cut it - but it sucked less on Linux). But damn, managing a windows system is TERRIBLE.
And what for? You can’t even change the system font. This ducking bullshit system won’t afford you any comforts! It’s all locked in place, shoved down your throat.
You’re not walking the dog, you’re taking it on a sniffing safari. That’s what motivates them. The walking is just the necessary evil to get to the next post.
I thought we were criticizing the first wording chosen by the journalist, not the corrected version.
Did they always look like criminals?
“He went to prison for sexually assaulting…”
It’s not hard.
So, in the USA, the current presidential candidate of a party is also automatically the head of the party? How do they expect any human to fulfill both roles competently at once?
At which altar should we pray to the idol cores?
I see. Thankfully I don’t listen to any podcasts at all.
There’s a difference between “both siding” and criticizing everything you disagree regardless of where it comes from. Bill’s humor is that of a comically grumpy character.
I’m sure EDB isn’t the only one in town selling support contracts for open source applications. It is a lucrative business.
That’s because pidgeonholing people into “generations” has always been stupid. The common thread is an absolute lack of empathy. Let’s just call them “late boomers”. And if there are decent boomers, just call them “early Xers” or “late silent” accordingly.
If Oracle works for the application and you want to save money, you’ll stick to SQL. Probably Postgres, MySQL, or MariaDB.
Turns out when you’re born with a silver spoon in hand and are a dumb sociopath, you win in life instead of living in prison.
The high leadership were absolute bozos, except for their propaganda guy (Goebel?). And at the lower levels, they had good engineering (still do). Thankfully the higher ups were more interested in building an über-weapon (because that’s good propaganda) than actually winning the war.
Let’s hope the current crop of nazis se their downfall faster. Actually, fuck hope. Let’s make them.
I bet he thinks SQL = MS SQL Server. And nothing else in the front end.
Thanks for that. In this day and age, hearing something positive is a bliss, even it’s just deradicalizing hexers.
Sounds like a raw deal. It’s nice to have severance package but the price is losing your pension if you leave… not worth it. Companies change, get shitty, and then you’d be stuck with it.
