As an American, I’d like the boycott to be more targeted. But yes, every company that licks the boots of this obviously fascist regime should see no more sales. I don’t have a full list, but it includes at least Meta, Alphabet (Google), and Amazon.

Many people share their home with others. They would still shower to the nice.

While a daily shower is overkill, and there are other ways to deal with it, most people need some sort of bathing routine as part of basic skin care: removing accumulated dust, dirt, sebum, sweat, etc. from the skin, particularly joints/folds/crevices.

Attempting to avoid triggering negative feelings (e.g. disgust) in the people around you is part of #1.

That generally requires #2, but might not depending other actions and niche situations.

There are some of you out there that really can’t return the cart. Maybe it’s your own mobility issues; maybe it’s children, animals, or something else that you can’t leave unattended in the vehicle; maybe you just ran out of spoons picking up your medical supplies; whatever reason–I got chu, fam.

When I turn around to return my cart, I always look for stragglers and bring them back. I’m forever alone, but healthy, so getting carts back to their “home” is the least I can do.

Definitions are tricky, and especially for terms that are broadly considered virtuous/positive by the general public (cf. “organic”) but I tend to deny something is open source unless you can recreate any binaries/output AND it is presented in the “preferred form for modification” (i.e. the way the GPLv3 defines the “source form”).

A disassembled/decompiled binary might nominally be in some programming language–suitable input to a compiler for that langauge–but that doesn’t actually make it the source code for that binary because it is not in the form the entity most enabled to make a modified form of the binary (normally the original author) would prefer to make modifications.

I was a daily reader of CAD at the time and I thought the reaction was disproportionate, but none of my partners have ever had a miscarriage during the time I was with them, as far as I know. (I cannot have a miscarriage myself.) There were some reactions that just seemed “mean”, but some people that had experienced a miscarriage (or a partner’s miscarriage) felt attacked/wronged by the comic for various reasons. I personally thought it was creative, tho it was not the tone I was expecting.

I think we mostly still don’t really know what makes things “go viral”, so I’m really not sure why it did, though I think most of the “meme-abilty” has to do with how “recognizable” the minimalist takes make it. Ex: :.|:;

I’m been told that it is not just virtue-signaling (it is), but that it is also a virtue (allyship) in action. Normalizing sharing that information make it easier for people that have a more complex relationship with their gender than I do.

I don’t know about other people, but I tend to drift toward doing things that are fun, comfortable, and familiar, unless I do some “internal parenting”. Even if they found a way to make redistributing their wealth fun, they are shaped by capitalism even more than myself, so I doubt they’d find it comfortable or familiar.

That’s how I understand it.

I’m going to get comfortable and familiar with community investment of my own resources well before I reach 1B, by intention.

“Kill all billionaires” isn’t a genocidal statement, since it’s not based on genetics, language, or culture.

I think it’s a bad plan, but we shouldn’t conflate genocide with mere mass murderous intent. (Also, “all billionaires” is only like 10k people at most, so it would be a very small mass murder compared to most genocides.)

I understand why Queen B or T Swift aren’t doing it, but the only moral activity (beyond survival tasks) that a “good billionaire” can be engaged in is redistributing their wealth to marginalized workers.

This is not a problem with voting that needs new ideas to address.

I think you can have a POV without having a body, and you can “be somewhere” based on your POV rather than your body.

But, I also think that probably not the only reasonable guess at what the uploaded experience is like.

If it is possible for the mind to survive the death of the body, I also think uploading would be fine. It’s a risk to be sure, but not having a body would actually address a lot of my current disappointments.

If resurrection is possible, I’d like to think the death could be prevented. But, I’ll take it if uploading is not available and death of the body is still inevitable.

Any parts that can be used to improve a human life should be used that way. Then any parts that can be used to improve animal/plant life should be used that way. Then the rest should be disposed of in the manner that consumes the fewest resources.

But, I’ll be gone; you guys can do whatever with it; I won’t care.

That rate seems high. But, I have done post-mortems on a bad developer’s run at a company, and found they did very nearly nothing. No commits, no issues opened or closed, some comments, but that was almost their entire digital footprint.

Most developers I’ve worked with are obviously not doing nothing, though some of us (including myself) get stuck doing a lot of work on a project that never makes it into production due to shifting priorities.
