  • It’s not bad. The people that tell you it’s bad are the enablers. They are the ones that have let these criminals run roughshod across the world for decades, because they keep telling everyone else, “We have checks and balances,” “Good always prevails,” and a hundred other lies so they can keep buying their shit from the enslaved that die in sweat shops. You are not bad for wishing to see retribution come to those who have done everything in their power to elevate themselves while destroying everything around them. The ones left cleaning up the rubble in the ruins of our world won’t ever think, “It’s a good thing no one ever held those power hungry oligarchs in check. It would have been a shame if someone got hurt.” No. The lie that we keep telling ourselves is that this won’t end in violence. It will. The violence has already begun. It’s worldwide. But we let it happen because it’s a slow motion mosh pit. So slow that we accept the hurt because it’s just “a little worse”, and cannot see the compounding nature of the damage that is being done. It will end in violence. Will it be your violence, or theirs? Only one of those ends with your loved ones seeing a brighter day.

  • You are giving false equivalency arguments. You are equating Musk’s abilities to some direct link in your taxes, as though the 25% you pay each paycheck is funding him. It isn’t. It is still funding garbage collection, national parks, welfare programs, and other critical infrastructure. Your taxes haven’t started going to new places. They are doing the exact same thing they have always done. You are being reactionary, and it comes off like you are either 15 years old and just learning about taxation, or 55 and learning about Libertarianism. Get a grip on yourself, realise that there is still work to be done, and being an infant about this shit isn’t doing anything but wasting people’s fucking time. If you don’t want to pay taxes, don’t. But don’t lie and say it’s about Musk. It’s selfishness. It’s because you can’t manage what money you have, and you think that little bit extra is going to make a difference. It won’t, though. You’ll still be broke because you spent all your money on weed and black light posters.

  • Everyone does everything to enrich themselves. The motivation for all life is to feel good. Sometimes money makes you feel good. Sometimes sex makes you feel good. Sometimes doing the right thing makes you feel good. In any situation, any person is going to be making the decision they make based on what will make them feel good. That includes “selfless acts” because even in those the joy of altruism can make a person feel good regardless of the hurt they may endure by their choice.

The key is finding people that feel good for doing good things. No one is perfect, but some people try harder than others. And don’t put them on a pedestal. If the last few years have taught us anything, it’s that our idols are just as bad as the rest of us.
