I want a lightweight kiosk without any DE, and I think a cage would work just fine. Maybe I should use Sway to open a single maximum window instead? It seems more bloated than using xinit with a Chromium window, which defeats the entire purpose…

I was building a kiosk for my home assistant with my Raspberry Pi. It was very complicated to set up a cage compositor, set up XWayland, setup Chromium Wayland flags, libinput rules, and the touchscreen mapping still doesn’t work… am I missing something here? For X11 everything just works right out of the box…

That’s how I predict the next generation of social media will be. Completely AI-generated. Your feed, every single post you see, every comment, every like, everything. Imagine, no human moderator ever needed because they can generate content compliant with every single governance body in the world and advertiser-friendly. Post/comment you posted will be seen by no one, but LLM will comment on it and agree with you, giving you fake internet points.

Worst of all? The vast majority of people are going to love it. Do you remember when GenAI first came out and people hated it? Now fully AI-generated channels/content creators are everywhere people shared the hell out of it.

We are not far from there tbh, just need more desensitization about GenAI tech in the population.

Aaaa, in the original code, I was attempting to parse the date in the format mm:dd:yyyy. However, I used a different date format in the endDate, which caused the timer to be reset (since it crashed). Tip: you can copy and paste the Hugging Face link directly into the search box, and it will download the model automatically! Also, it’s pretty smart. It will load into your VRAM first, then your RAM. If you can fit everything into VRAM, you get the fastest speed.
