  • Oh yeah that's a pretty solid benefit right there. I swear the oddest things will block them from cutting. I didn't even consider the smoke diffusing the beam.

Like the most powerful laser I've used won't cut through a paper sticker or even the residue but it'll cut through .75" steel like it's nothing.

The optics is a big deal too. On the big ones everything is pretty reasonably sized and they're still a pain to clean. I can't imagine what it's like with those tiny ones. Also, those larger lasers lenses are really commonly coated in thorium and a speck gets on there it's going to superheat and vaporize a lot of the lense. Pretty damn dangerous to be around lol!

  • CNC laser operator here.

I don't know about these lower power lasers so I may be wrong. With the lasers I've used (200-2000W), the air/oxygen is used to create a superheated jacket of gas around the laser which allows it to cut a nice smooth edge. It also has the added benefit of blowing away the slag/dross that's created.

When we cut more temperature sensitive materials like aluminum and stainless we use nitrogen, which cools the material. This creates a pretty jagged deal with the dross that you gotta sand off but it prevents blowouts and really creates a nice edge if you get the pressure dialed in just right.

  • My brother has this completely redpilled friend. He’s taken college level classes on aerodynamics and aerospace manufacturing (so have I). He’s always pointing out the contrails and saying something about mind control or Bill Gates…

I always sarcastically ask him about what other medium would he expect them to be projecting the sky on. Gets him to shut up real quick. For an hour or so… They really aren’t that bright.

  • My bio mom has a cat that’s a compulsive groomer. She’s constantly violently licking herself. It’s so bad she’s lost most of her hair and her skin is all dry and scaley/scabby. Turns into a screaming ball of razors if you don’t let her sit in your lap or acknowledge her sitting in your lap.

It’s like having an angry scabby nutsack sit in your lap that you aren’t allowed to look at.

  • Alright so how about we build an air tight enclosure around a small part of the door, just big enough to get, say, a small drone through. A mechanical part of this enclosure would be saws or something to breech the door. Would probably want to draw a vacuum in the enclosure first just in case… maybe the enclosure could act as an airlock so researchers could access the drone for charging, upgrading, repairs, and whatnot?

I heard of this tomb when I was really young and ever since I’ve kinda used it as an engineering exercise in my head. Sometimes I draw things out for myself but this is the first time I’ve ever told anyone about it lol
