That’s really a western Europe thing and American thing. Even then no where near as much as you’re suggesting, not for the last 10k years or so at least. You have to get married to get divorced, and marriage is simply not on the table for most people. It’s expensive and pointless. Marriage rates have been dropping for a couple of decades.
