Project 2025 does seem to be the exact program they are following for most things. One of the next steps is to deploy the military for law enforcement inside the USA. This may happen in a few days’ time if the rumours of Trump planning to declare martial law on April 20th are true.

The guerrilla resistance would largely be in our cities down south, as that’s where most Canadians live.

Look at all that free speech the USA has, where people are being disappeared to an overseas concentration camp for saying genocide is wrong, or having the FBI investigate them for speaking critically about Trump, or imprisoned at the border for criticizing him online. Whereas in the UK, these days you get arrested and thrown in jail if you say you’re English, don’t you?

Does anyone trust the UK government not to do this?

It’s a question of organization, in the face of forces working hard to prevent it. It’s possible but not easy. And someone needs to be the spark that gets the fire going.

They don’t want Americans to gain power, control and wealth. They want a cabal of rich men to gain power, control and wealth. And they feel no loyalty to any country or person, and no morality. All that guides them is their nose for whatever will increase their own power, control and wealth. That might mean loyalty to Trump or Putin, but only because a lack of loyalty would obstruct the process of increasing your power, control and wealth. Loyalty itself is only another form of expediency for them.

They could have replaced the Google Assistant with their new Gemini thing on these waches (since I think they basically just relay voice to and from the phone). But, being Google, they prefer just to remove features people already paid for.

People say Linux is more difficult, but I find Windows 11 both more difficult to make do what I need it to do and far more stressful because it’s slow, unreliable and prioritizes what Microsoft wants it to do over what I want it to do. Sometimes I pop into a Windows VM but only for particular things. I recommend the move.

Seems to me you’re trying to use some evolutionary, survival-of-the-fittest just-so story to argue that society shouldn’t take care of the less fortunate people, including those who vote for Trump because they’re not so smart. It’s a very fascist sounding position. In fact, most attempts to draw lessons for modern society from more or less cooked up evolutionary history are just right-wing propaganda dressed in a sciencey frock.

There’s a serious chance they’ll have the guy killed to get the judge off their back without having to be seen backing down, and to show judges what happens when they try to challenge the regime on a deportation case.
