that might be more the advertiser needs to update their negs list
illegal aliens aren’t Americans
not my point. I meant hurt Americans by increasing food and cost of living expenses, reduction in farming workforce, loss of tax revenue meaning increased taxes on the poorest
edit: not to mention the social cost of witnessing raids, which are generally pretty unpopular when witnessed in person or to someone you know
“started under Obama”
by the very self same person you just lauded as doing good thing
“it’s not a war crime because we’re not at war”
we are at war. America has been at war 228 out of 245 years (in before “its only congress that can declare war and they haven’t done that since ww2!” so the war in Iraq was not a war etc)
But also, the technical definition of war does not mean destroying families is suddenly a good thing lol
it’s more of a crime to traffick kids
That’s not what human trafficking is, and it’s disingenuous to suggest it is. And the solution to human trafficking is not to further traffick the victims, which is the solution here.
trekking across a desert… climbing a wall
this is a fantasy and for the most part is statistically insignificant to illegal immigration. Most people drive or fly into America, and do so legally. The illegal part occurs when their paperwork expires and, as you can imagine, it is then incredibly difficult to a) reup or b) remove persons for both sides. It’s hard for the person in question because of all the barriers to entry, but also they moved to the US legitimately, and now the barriers exist only to make continued life more difficult, further compounding the situation; and, it’s hard for the government because there simply isn’t the resources to track expiry dates let alone action deportation on the back of them.
you care more about x than y
How do you know what I care about? This conversation does not have the scope to list and stack rank an exhaustive list of all the things I care about, but you are welcome to go first.
Secondly, many of the starving homeless Americans are children of 1stG immigrants, whose lives are made worse by these policies.
Laken Riley is a joke to you?
A) when did I say that?
b) Google the numbers on who commits more violent crime - spoiler not only do immigrants commit less crime, and less severe types, but they also have an effect of reducing crime amongst Americans in their community
The guy who brought the war crime of parental separation from children to US policy. Why do you think that ruining children’s lives, who would otherwise be raised in families, cared for and loved, literal babies torn from their mother’s breast, is a good thing? And for what? Money? This policy is the most expensive way of doing anything, and removing immigration negatively impacts the country both as a collective and as per capita, so it’s purely just ideological cruelty on an arbitrary group of people.
Secondly, the guy is a proven outright liar, who frequently quotes false and made up statistics, loves to joke about women getting raped, and regularly collaborates with listed hate groups.
Why not appoint a competent, truthful person who truly cares about helping America than someone actively trying to hurt both America and Americans?
If they are already in the country then it would be pointless to describe how to enter the country.
well actually I’ve taken to calling it “GNU+Linux”
The question was do I feel like I’ve reached the end of what the world has to offer.
No, and as an example of what I find enriching: music, books, TV, film, dance, poetry, news, science, games - other people would count sports… even if you find between 51–99.9% of entertainment of any and all kinds unenriching and unentertaining, then you still find some things meet that, and thus have not reached the end of everything in the world.
My point being with such hyperbole: no, no one has reached the end
frequently, yes. You can’t convince me you’ve never been entertained and enriched by entertainment
i prefer to snipe the best friend in advance from a tall building and wait until the subsequent melee has quietened down
I doubt I could even make a dent in the amount of art, music, theatre, film, TV, fiction, dance, and reading about scientific studies made only this year so far if I was trying to consume and experience everything.
Let alone everything from the last 200 years. So, no, even without leaving my house there’s enough new things to last a lifetime
I meant it colloquially - like a long time ago - but fair point. More accurately, it was introduced about 100-150 years before there was a linguistic trend for fruit to be called fruit and not apples.
is this loss?
to be fair, that’s a modern take. in antiquity it was so ignoble it was given the generic name for a fruit/vegetable.
a modern version might be more akin to “dirt thing”
I dont fault that really, saying good things when a company does good things is fairly normal, as is working for a company that doesnt do good things but you’ve got to have a job.
I mean I saw armored vehicles and armed guards at the Georgia Capitol building in Atlanta during the last few elections
Quizmaster: Jolly good! Well now Madam your first question for the blow on the head this evening is: Which great opponent of Cartesian dualism resists the reduction of psychological phenomena to a physical state and insists there is no point of contact between the extended and the unextended?
Ratbag: I don’t know that.
Quizmaster: Well – have a guess!
Ratbag: Oh… Henri Bergson?
Quizmaster: …is the correct answer! (Piano chords)
Ratbag: Ooh, that was lucky. I never even heard of him.
I mean technically any machine is a potential Linux machine…
Waste is how you frame it.
Even literal poop has a benefit.
I do client work, sometimes it drives me mad how much time I “waste” making PPT slides that are just prettier BI dashboards, but then the client sees it, sends that one slide to his boss and everyone claps me on the back.
Mexico is a big country, Google has shareholders who demand line goes up, people use maps to advertise (“map pack” “local SEO” and brand tie-ins)…
I have never met you or know anything about you, but I’d rather have you than DJT
