One of the most famous examples of that was done by an investigative journalist in Florida, which lead to their state’s police union putting out a BOLO (be on the lookout) announcement for him (which are usually only used for wanted criminals), where they “accidentally” leaked his personal information

e; Also, the fact that it took some independent journalists to uncover this and none of the thousands of different investigators at different agencies that interact with or oversee ICE that my federal tax dollars pay for is a disgrace. This person should and could have been fired a long time ago.

Pretending they care is step one of doing something, step two is blaming liberal bureaucrats for the problem, step three is pretending they solved the problem or repeating step two depending on whether the constituent phone call is happy or angry

It is wild to see him just stand up there and admit he’s got no ideas for how to deal with this situation that he’s known was coming since November (and should have known was coming since the convention over the summer). Like, even if he believes there’s literally nothing he can do, just straight up admitting he’s useless and implicitly telling everyone to look somewhere else for resistance is an awful way to rally out supporters and keep people engaged, which is exactly what we need to be doing right now.
We’ve got more important things to tell people right now about things Congress and the White House are going to be attempting soon, but eventually we also really need to be connecting with Jeffries’ voters and making sure they understand that this blank check for Republicans is what they voted for when they supported him in primary votes and helping them understand that the country really can’t afford this kind of lazy incompetence right now.
I don’t think it’s technically called a filibuster in that circumstance, but, yeah, there were things they could have done to slow those votes down but didn’t (archived)

Yeah, speaking as someone who voted for Harris but has friends I wasn’t able to persuade to vote at all, that voter blaming troll bullshit helps Republicans win elections whether the people pushing it recognize it or not

This is going to be an awful thing that will almost certainly lead to a lot of suffering and death, but watching McConnell’s impassioned and deeply personal stories about surviving polio just get totally ignored like a Democratic president’s supreme court nominee in his Senate was at least a little satisfying
They were and are the same genocide, there was no candidate with a reasonable chance to win that election who was going to hold Israel accountable either way
