Yes, mass protesting is a good start
From my country, it’s just surreal to watch the lack of reactions from Americans. It looks like they mostly support the actions of the co-nazi dictators, a really bad picture to say the least.
I like both Arch and Manjaro, I like the ability to pick the right tool for the job. I can tweak and better understand my system with Arch, I can be trouble-free and productive with Manjaro.
In my experience with this format, only the good ones are leaving and you’re stuck with the rest.
How is it? Well it feels like an environment where developers actually care about users. I love it.
It’s also tricky to compare, lots of caveats everywhere.
Checking in France thanks to the official simulation engine: https://mon-entreprise.urssaf.fr/simulateurs/salaire-brut-net For a 60K€ gross yearly salary, 9 618 € will go towards health insurance (801€ per month).
In the end the cost is not that far from the US, but the benefits are much much higher.
Same for Reddit, still very much alive apparently.
(I’m not going back, I’m happy here)
I think some Fediverse mods are more extreme and biased than their equivalent on Reddit.
For example, criticizing the anti-men stance (as in: nothing to do with feminism) promoted by jlai.lu admins for example got me my ban. My first ever ban despite being very active on Reddit for 10 years prior to migrating to Lemmy.
Smaller communities do feel like an echo chamber as a consequence.
PS: sh.itjust.works admins do look fine though!
Nice of you to illustrate OP’s point 🤣
I’m too old to say that one distribution is better than another one. The selling points : I have no admin at all to do, and no trouble for 5+ years, although I’m pretty sure I would have had the same results with Arch or Endeavour. I like their default configuration for KDE plasma, and I like their software update workflow. If you’re happy with your distribution, keep it 😁
I’m a very happy Manjaro user and have been for more than 5 years.
Let’s just say it doesn’t seem to be a popular opinion around here!
PowerPoint is shit but it’s the best by far
That sounds like a misusage of a very common word in French: anodin
There’s only 34 million uBlock Origin users on Chrome? So, billions are using Chrome without any ad-blockers? That’s crazy and unsafe
I don’t understand your comment. They are the good guys browser-wise but that doesn’t mean they are good guys everywhere.
I wrote some insults and it worked.
Pretty sure my insults will be used to train a model as well
It’s interesting to read people’s issues on Linux. It seems almost all of them come from the graphic stack and gaming. Using an Intel card I haven’t seen an issue in forever.
Are you really comparing a country quickly becoming a nazi dictatorship with a democratic change to align with demographic considerations?
