So… no power, is what your saying.
I don’t really know much about French politics, but surely there is something similar that right wing reactionaries can get upset about there.
For example a Dutch friend of mine who has been radicalized by Joe Rogan, Twitter, and Facebook tells me that you can’t say anything bad about Islam in Holland, as he sends me link after link with fascist anti-Muslim propaganda. (Like… you can’t say things that the “news” that you just sent me is literally saying?)
This is why this only applies to people if you have a number assigned to each person that increases by 1 for each person.
In theory such a number could exist, but it doesn’t now, so I’m afraid that little girl is actually not special interesting. 😉
I had “Ukraine is fucked” as the first thing on my list of outcomes if Trump won the election. Does that count? 😔
Until recently the US supplied a lot of weapons to Ukraine. That did give US official opinion a lot of weight.
Since Trump and his Republican followers have stopped all aid to Ukraine this influence has evaporated. Why would you care about the opinion of someone who has literally just left you to die?
karnemelk. shudder
Enshittification is a particular outcome of a particular stage of capitalism.
So, you’re “correcting” someone without them being wrong. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
As new technologies arrive they destabilize societies. This can be good (the pill giving women freedom from unwanted pregnancy), bad (distilled alcohol leading to widespread alcoholism), or mixed (the Internet).
There are always people in the upper echelons of society who yearn to be in charge. They seize any chance to take over. Sometimes this requires support from the masses. One way to do this is selling a dream of a better future for all. They may even believe it!
If the power balance shifts there may be a time of genuine progress, but eventually the people with power figure out how to exploit the new system, and everything new is old again.
This didn’t seem correct to me. Ask far as I know the ISO 8601 standard is just about presentation, and has no start date (although you cannot go before year 1 in most systems that I’ve seen).
I found this article:
Which confirms the gist though.
Please stop falling for efforts to divide the working class.
Amy such efforts should immediately be viewed as suspicious. The divide is not old vs young, or white vs black, or even rich vs poor. It is the capital class versus the labor class.
Boomers grew up in a very tiny slice of global history where the working class actually got improvements in their material conditions, so it is hard for them to understand the struggles of people before or after… but they are being ground down by capitalism the same as the rest of us.
Your comrades at work may not understand the importance of unions or collective action, but they are still your comrades. Your grandmother may not realize that all of her extra productivity went to make billionaires richer, but she is still your comrade.
GenX is 72% according to that site.
Like when Trump published the minutes from his “perfect phone call”.
Obama could have pardoned the prisoners and apologized for holding them for many years without trial, in blatant violation of the plain text in the US Constitution.
It is much more common for people who have only worked at 1 or 2 places, and who have not seen the impacts of changing economic cycles, to have less context and understanding of what is normal and acceptable.
Am I the only one who was reminded of the opening video in Fallout 2?
Yeah during Trudeau’s speech the only thing I was thinking when he was listing all of Canada’s resources is, “are you trying to encourage a US invasion?!”
If the don’t plan on seizing nukes then they’ll end up like Ukraine…
America had elections in 1944. It has no exception in its Constitution for war.
