      That’s exactly what I wanted to say. Cats use their nails to get around, grab stuff and hunt, it wouldn’t be so nice tho them if you cut them off

      Huh? Declawing maybe, but not trimming their claws.

      If it does hurt, my cat doesn’t seem to show it at all/he literally just sits there and doesn’t move/will sleep through it.

      Anecdotal, I guess, but my cat loves having her claws trimmed. She doesn’t even do it for the treat. And she continues to scratch everything afterwards, which is fine, the only time we cut them is if she scratches us when playing.

      It’s like cutting fingernails, totally fine if they’re indoor cats, and it’s not the upholstery so much as the 16 tiny knives that puncture my legs when they jump in my lap lol
