me watching Buffy: “Enough with the crazy martial arts, lead with the god damn stake!”
This proves Thor is the most consistent out of everyone in that universe.
How many of the possible futures included Ant-Man crawling up Thanos’ ass?
Probably a lot of them, but he didn’t have the guts to share that plan
The comics kind of address this:
Killing the holder of the Infinity Gauntlet usually results in someone equally bad picking it up.
So just killing Thanos often isn’t a complete solution, after the stones have been gathered.
It is suspension of disbelief, that somehow, there was only one practical solution to defeat Thanos. And they do not involve Thor going after his head, or Thanos educating the population of the universe about family planning and contraception.
ThanosWasRight is just a meme. Thanos could have gone for the latter option but his faux concern about overpopulation is a cover for his egomania.
Yeah, that plan wouldn’t work. There are plenty of people today on earth, where we have endless access to education and contraception, who go out of their way to have like 12+ kids. They know what they’re doing and simply don’t care.
Someone telling people “Hey, be real cool if you like, had fewer kids” just isn’t going to accomplish anything.
Just because there are outliers, it does not mean the whole trend is represented by it. That is to say, the population growth is already slowing down and may even decline after it plateaus. Education and access to contraception works.
So, economical reasons couldn’t account for the slowdown. It’s 100% education and contraception…? Not the cost of living is so high and pay is so low that supporting another human is a risky venture. Or people are working so many hours to make ends meet.
I’m saying most living things, real or fiction, are more likely to be selfish than listen to literally anyone telling them not too. And we see this in the MCU repeatedly, both on earth and in aliens. When you emphasis freedom of will and choice, you cannot be surprised when it’s exorcised.
You do realise that poorer people tend to have more children, especially in developing countries? But even then, these countries are gradually developing and their population growth is also slowing down thanks to more education and growing economy. The more educated people are, the more likely they will think first and plan before having a family. Educated people also have higher social mobility with higher disposable income, and likely try to enjoy more themselves than settle down as quickly as possible. So economic factor is a consideration with the slow down on population growth, but not the way you think it does.
I joke about Thanos being right cause i think we should be reducing the population but I don’t actually think killing half the world is a solution
The overall human population growth is actually slowing down and expected to plateau by 2050. Who would have thought that the more educated the population is, the less likely they are going to have tons of babies.
It is now the opposite, actually. Governments now want people to have more babies! But seriously, in this economy? And the future of the earth is not even certain it will be habitable for our descendants! Why bring life into the world that will soon be dead!
I want 18. Great replacement is coming
You jerk it to blacked, don’t you?
I don’t know, feel like I’m warming up to the idea lately.
So are the rich. Let’s make sure we take out the right problems.
So, the rich and their poor cultists? Probably close enough to 50%
Or the Ant Man thing.
I bet most universes did and he was too much of a prude to mention it.
Or even just cut off his arm.
Seriously, why didn’t they stick his arm through one of those portals and then close it? Wouldn’t that sever the arm and separate Thanos far from the gems?
The subtext there might be that Dr Strange felt so hopeless about the situation that he didn’t conceive to look into the possibility, out of an infinite number of them.
I think he saw the one possibility early on but because Tony sacrificed himself there, Strange was trying to find anything else. That he couldn’t after so many tries would certainly drive a person crazy, and it’s reasonable to consider that if you only found one and no others, the probability must be virtually zero.
That’s two levels deep, and an amazing take.
Thor is too stubborn. Strange probably couldn’t find out a good way to tell Thor to aim better without him taking it as an insult.
Also, Thor was in space for the most part. It’s possible Strange didn’t know where Thor was, so good luck getting the message through.
14,000,605 is about 1 billion less than a billion, so 4 billion is an extreme exaggeration
My mistake, I remembered the wrong number
Dr Strangelove saw one possible future and it had 10 women to each man.
I must say that is an extraordinarily good plan.
The women are unlikely to think so.
It’s like the reverse of the well known statistic that nine out of ten people approve of gang rape.
I think the saying is “9 out of 10 people that have ever been involved in a gang rape approve of gang rapes.”. Because the way you said it is, well, a much rougher neighborhood.
True. Maybe ‘9 of 10 participants’.
He wasn’t in one of those realities. His set of infinities was limited by the situaltion.
