Before they kinked someone was likely moving or yanking on the garden hose.
Also, garden hoses are not braided steel. You would need to aggressively twist a toilet’s feed line to kink.
This thing is fine. I’ve installed a ton of toilets and sinks, and I have looping water lines that have looked like this for decades and worked just fine.

Its not terrible but I would expect better. Over time the hose will leak or cause the valve or fittings to leak. It sets my plumber senses tingling.
You should put a trigger warning on this. Toilets are my Vietnam.
Just needs a shorter hose, maybe a valve replacement cause that type sucks.
