I have a bridge near me, its like 130 feet ish above the water. I’m not sure if its tall enough.

There’s also the land area right before the bridge goes over the water. If I jump off from the part above land, its 130 feet into land.

I heard that your brain doesn’t even have time to process it.

That being said, I’m still kinda hanging on to see more TV shows and Movies.

The world is collapsing, and I kinda wanna see how this story ends. WW3? 👀

But I guess its mostly just the survival insticts in the dna that kinda made it difficult for me to make an attempt. The fear of death.

Its so ironic, 2 forces of you brain acting against each other. The conscious part that wants the suffering to end, and the subconscious desire to continue existing.

Welp, I guess I’m stuck here.

No quitting allowed, my subconsious brsin decrees… 🤷‍♂️

If you can’t bring yourself to do it, be it because you think people will suffer and be sad when you’re gone or that the world will be a worse one without you then you really shouldn’t do it. You most likely don’t actually want to in that case. There are exceptions, like terminally ill people who just can’t anymore, but if you have doubts about suicide, then you should see someone about it. Also, you will very likely survive ~35 meters. General rule of thumb is 50 meters for hard surfaces (concrete, compacted dirt, rocks) and 100 m for water. Please don’t jump from there. You will cripple yourself and hate yourself for that attempt forever. (There’s most likely a safety net too, so you’ll break a bunch of bones if you’re unlucky)

Well Good thing I’m in America. Suicide by cop is also quite popular.

Might just decide to take a few of these fascist pigs out while I’m at it.

Edit: I know you’re trying to help, I’m just venting.

Stop, lol. The momentum from the truck is carrying the log forward. Realistically, it isn’t being shot directly into the windshield like a cruise missile.

    Physics!

Never noticed that the logs fell off the side and bounced! The log would slow and the car would still be hauling ass, right?

And for those of you scared of log trucks, nothing can make a log slide off the top while driving down the road. They are jammed on there with friction.

EDIT: The log is still going 65mph (for argument’s sake). You’re still going 65mph (for argument’s sake). The log will slow on the bounce, a little, you’ll jam the brakes and slow more, it will still look like a fucking torpedo.

Brakes can absolutely stop faster than a log falling off a truck. Your reaction time is the main concern.

Wouldn’t you have about the same reaction time as if the truck was braking tho? I mean, the momentum will carry the log in the direction the truck was going until it dissipates, which is kinda the same as braking.

I mean, that situation would obviously be dangerous because you don’t wanna stop on a freeway for obvious reasons, but still, if you adhered to common safety rules, you should be okay in that situation, no?

i’d argue a bouncing log takes a lot longer to slow down than your average car hitting the brakes

I wouldn’t have been anywhere near that close to a fckn logging truck of all things.

I’m surrounded by forestry operations where I live. I can’t go anywhere without getting stuck behind a logging truck on winding and often slippery broads. It’s amazing how complacent I’ve become with these things.

Inertia says that the log is moving roughly the same speed as the truck, so I’ll apply the brakes and move to the right.

Dodge right and hope for the best trying to control the car in the weeds. Wrecking in dirt seems somewhat better odds than being speared by a thousand pound log.

The logs don’t actually tend to fly out and backwards, they fall off to the sides, usually just one side too, the best option is to give them plenty of space and be ready to steer to the side not dumping logs. If you’re unfortunate enough that one managed to catch air enough to be sent back but not enough to change it from horizontal to more vertical the universe has already decided what you’re doing, dying

We have a ton of these where I live I’ve never seen one in motion fail I don’t find them any scarier than a normal semi who has who knows what, possibly something way more deadly and way less stable hidden inside the container

Before this happened I would have given myself double the distance to the truck avoiding the situation completely

Probably crash, my car is right hand drive so I don’t think the log hits me, but I’m pretty sure I’m not prepared to control a car after that kind of impact.
